Commission and hand over

Commissioning confirms that the configured system behaves as intended. A screenshot or completed wizard cannot replace these checks.

For a software-only demonstration, use simulator inputs and record the result as simulation. Physical detection, radio performance and installation acceptance remain unverified until suitable hardware is available.

Prepare the test

• Agree the test period with everyone affected.
• Identify notification recipients and any connected automations.
• Use authorized test codes.
• Know how to disarm before beginning.
• Keep a zone schedule and record pass/fail results.

Do not trigger emergency, fire, CO or duress functions as an informal demonstration.

Check configuration

• The displayed software version is recorded.
• Installer and master factory codes are replaced.
• Wi-Fi, address mode, local time and time zone are correct.
• Every used zone has an understandable name and an intentional type/source.
• No simulator binding is being mistaken for a physical sensor.
• Night-zone and chime choices match the owner’s expectations.
• Entry/exit timings and auto-stay behavior are understood.
• Unused remote services are disabled.

Check operation

• Each intended input changes only the correct named zone and then restores.
• Away, Stay and Night behave as configured.
• Entry and exit countdowns allow the intended route.
• Authorized users can perform their allowed operations.
• Arm-only and Guest restrictions are understood.
• A deliberate eligible bypass is visible and clears on disarm.
• Chime responds only to intended zones.
• Faults are investigated rather than merely acknowledged.

Check connected services

• Home Assistant reconnects and displays the expected devices.
• Only intended Home Assistant entities are shared.
• Shared sensor states agree with the panel.
• Loss and recovery of a test source are handled as expected.
• Each configured notification service delivers a test to the intended phone.
• Panel Manager access and certificate identity are verified if enabled.

For now, mark hardware-dependent items Not tested rather than passing them based on a simulator.

Hand over

Show the owner how to arm/disarm, find an open zone, bypass deliberately, manage users and read Troubles. Explain Instant, Auto-stay, entry routes, phone-notification limits and who to contact.

Leave installer mode. Confirm the expected idle state and explain any remaining troubles. Hand over the private configuration record and unresolved items alongside the User Guide.
